The Gyrosphere is unchanged from when it first debuted in 2015, and I still like the design of it, where it rolls and wobbles while keeping the minifigure inside stabilised. Here’s a look at the back view of the Gyrosphere Station, where you can see that the designers have added in some nice details, such as a small ladder to get onto the Gyrosphere dock. No idea about the significance of the 18th of February, but it could be an Easter Egg reference to the designer’s birthday. Throughout the structure are several stickers such as a screen where you can see a sauropod out in the wild, and a calendar with a Pterodactyl and month of February on it. The design of this Gyrosphere complex is pretty decent – I really like this red bracket along the side of the structure.įor what it’s worth, the designers really did a decent job adding to the details of the structure, and making what was really a boring design in the movie, into something that has some nice architectural features, such as the arches at the base, foliage out front, and the wall brackets. There is a large waiting area out the front for guests to line up or mingle, turnstiles to get in, and even a ticket booth. The designers did a pretty good job adapting the design of the ride, from this scene in the movie, with the thatched roof and even positioning of the Gyrosphere track. Here’s the complete Gyrosphere station, which is a fully self-contained building that bears a striking resemblance to a theme park ride. There’s a play feature that’s built into the trees, where you can knock the Technic pins to dislodge them, causing them to crash dramatically – they serve as collateral damage from the showdown between both dinos. The trees are also quite nice – with a healthy dose of leaves, although the trunks look a little too straight and rigid. I like the fossil on the base of the gyroscope sign which is a nice touch. Let’s get into the build – there’s a simple but really attractive Gyrosphere sign, which has two prehistoric palms that flank it.īe very careful with applying the Gyrosphere word stickers, lest you end up with this misaligned monstrosity like I did. With the original Indominus Rex being one of the rarest LEGO Dinosaurs, this is a great opportunity to own one without breaking the bank. Of course, just like the movie suggests, despite being heavily armoured and having a swinging club tail, the Indominus Rex is likely to win by sheet wit and cheating thanks to its genetic engineering. Having two large dinosaurs in the set dramatically boosts the playability, as it allows the both of them to square off in a classic Carnivore vs Herbivore matchup. Unlike the OG Indominus, which has hands that can rotate, and can has a slot to grip a minifigure’s legs, the newer version has long, slender arms with a singular stud in its palm – this of course, allows you to affix a minifigure, or any other LEGO element for a more secure hold. It’s still blood-red, making him look like he’s suffering a major bout of conjunctivitis, but it’s a little too expressive and looks a bit too cartoony.Īnother major difference is the new hands. I’m not a fan of the new design of its eye.

"We love You, Lord Jesus," we often may say, By yielding to Christ and heeding the warning of the Spirit when we sin, we can avoid His chastening and instead enjoy the blessings reserved for His repentant children. The land of milk and honey was looted and ransacked before their very eyes.Īs believers, we should tremble at the thought of spurning the grace and mercy of God. They resisted His gracious warnings and finally experienced divine judgment. Their worship and sacrifices became a stench in the nostrils of God, for their hearts were far from Him. The people of Israel turned away from the Lord like rebellious children. But Israel ignored God’s tender care and eventually provoked Him to anger (Isaiah 1:4). He said that a dumb ox recognizes his owner, and the stubborn donkey knows enough to come home to his own stall (Isaiah 1:3). The prophet Isaiah emphasized the unruly behavior of the people of Israel in the first chapter of his book. In fact, there were occasions when he sank his teeth into the very hands that fed him. Having affectionately cared for this “little bandit” for several months, I was amazed and frustrated when he forgot my friendship and turned on me. I once had a pet raccoon by the name of Jason. I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against Me. We can follow God’s command: “Wash yourselves!” (Isaiah 1:16), and He will make us truly spotless. With the Holy Spirit’s help (Ezekiel 36:27), we can stop that cycle and align our actions with our repentant hearts. Like the Israelites, many of us sin like crazy, and then supposedly come clean before God every Sunday. Specifically, we can lend a hand to the poor, defend orphans, or champion the rights of widows. Getting clean involves “ to do good” (Isaiah 1:17). Once we discontinue specific sinful actions, it’s important to replace them with activities that please God. Paul asked, “Should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of His wonderful grace? Of course not!” (Romans 6:1-2). As believers in Jesus, we have the same responsibility to knock off the sin that separates us from God. He began by saying, “Give up your evil ways” (Isaiah 1:16). God didn’t want an outward show of confession without an inner commitment to act differently.įortunately, God outlined a couple of steps to help the nation get right with Him. He said, “I am sick of your burnt offerings” (Isaiah 1:11), and “When you lift up your hands in prayer, I will not look” (Isaiah 1:15). They’d been living as a nation of spiritual renegades (Isaiah 1:4) even as they continued to observe their religious ceremonies. God called the people of Israel to “sanitize” themselves. I didn’t stop until the phone was spotless. Horrified, I set to work spraying, scrubbing, and disinfecting. It slid straight to the bottom, and when I pulled it out, it was covered with some kind of disgusting mystery goo. I accidentally dropped my cell phone into the garbage can. Wash yourselves and be clean! (Isa 1:16). Live so that others know whom you belong to I am Yours, Lord, yet teach me all it means, Take a lesson from the animals and remember your Owner and Provider. They had been bought with a price and were to honor God in all they said and did (1Cor 6:19-20). Hundreds of years after Isaiah, the apostle Paul reminded the Corinthian Christians that they were not their own. God’s people, however, often aren’t smart enough to remember their Owner. These animals know who takes care of them. He noted that an ox knows its owner, and a donkey knows where its food comes from (Isaiah 1:3). And in Japan, 20 small quakes within a few months were accurately forecast because observers noted that catfish swam frantically, as if chased by sharks.įrom the prophet Isaiah we learn that observing animals can even teach us how to prevent a ruined life (Isa 1:2-9). They were alerted to the disaster by cattle that mooed more than usual and chickens that refused to roost. In northeastern China, officials were able to warn and evacuate people from high-risk areas hours before a killer earthquake struck. Because of their alertness to natural phenomena, they have at times helped us to avoid disaster. Isaiah 1:3Īnimals sometimes seem to have more sense than people. By the way, the stem of a verb is the result you get when you remove the infinitive suffix (meaning the -ar, -er, or -ir) from the infinitive form. The easiest type of irregular verbs in Spanish are the ones that require stem-changing but keep the regular endings. So let’s disentangle this complicated situation of irregular Spanish verbs and look for some patterns to help us learn faster. Statistically, in Spanish, almost all verbs ending in -ar are regular, almost all verbs ending in -er are irregular and less than half of all verbs ending in -ir are irregular. Once you get used to the language and use it all the time, your brain will start making connections.Īs you already know, irregular verbs are “rebel” verbs that follow no regular set of rules. Remember how you managed to learn the irregular English verbs? Well, there are tricks which you can use, but the truth is that, in time, irregular Spanish verbs will just… come to you. Spanish verbs: how to master irregular Spanish verbs Thus, the conjugation of the verb escribir will become: All three types of regular verbs ( -ar, -er, -ir) have the same endings in the simple future tense. In order to form the simple future tense, we will add the verb ending to the infinitive form of the verb. N.B.: Amazing news for this one! It’s extremely easy. In Spanish, there are two ways to form the future tense: the informal future tense (the verb ir + a + infinitive -> voy a comer) and the simple future tense which we will illustrate in this article. Spanish Simple Future Tense – Regular Simple Future Verb Endings And one little tilde can make all the difference in the world! Thus, the conjugation of bromear will become:Īnd the conjugation of comer will look like this: So what endings do we use for the Spanish preterite tense? Let’s see: Now that you know how regular verb endings work in Spanish, let’s just concentrate on endings alone. Naturally, the same as the simple past tense, the Spanish preterite tense is used to describe actions completed at some point in the past. The Spanish preterite tense or el pretérito is the equivalent of the simple past tense in English. What do you think? Wouldn’t that be useful? Welcome to another essential Spanish lesson you’ll have to learn if you want to boost your Spanish conversation skills. (The change might be correlated with the introduction of non-FR campaigns to DDAL.) In version 2.5 it stated:ĭoes My Paladin Have to Worship a Deity? Yes, though your character’s alignment isn’t required to match that of their deity. It is worth noting that the D&D Adventurer's League FAQ has switched its position on this issue over time. This interpretation is supported by lore from earlier editions (see for example the Triadic Knights) as well as the text on clerics (page 125):Ī typical cleric in Faerun serves a single divine patron, but some individuals feel called to serve a group. These two sentences might seem to be in conflict, unless we interpret them to state that 5e FR paladins get support from one or more deities. Most paladins in the Forgotten Realms, like clerics, are devoted to a particular deity. a warrior also has great devotion to a particular deity, that god can reward the faithful with a measure of divine power, making that person Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide states (page 131): So feel free to rule however you like.Īs for the officially printed material you have asked for, below is what is available. Throughout its whole history, Ed Greenwood and the various versions of any written material have always highlighted the fact that each FR campaign belongs to the individual DMs. In spite of the central role faith plays in the FR of Greenwood, you are more than welcome to reject it or find ways around it (like a faithless paladin who is still being watched over by a deity like Torm). The attempts by the god of the dead, Kelemvor, to resolve this seemingly unfair treatment of the faithless has been depicted to have serious consequences in novels, which resulted in a change of his personality. If not, they are "disciplined" in the afterlife and become part of the "Wall of the Faithless". As such not just paladins, but all people are expected to have a patron deity. When most people have vaccination, we get a herd immunity likewise when most people have faith, the FR world 'runs'. Our real-world secular/religious sensitivities are not attuned to this way of thinking, perhaps a good analogy is having your children vaccinated. Deities get to run the (meta)physics of the world and not having faith diminishes their power and causes imbalance. In general, deities are a major part of this polytheistic setting, and mortals and powers are well-aware of this. In previous editions, official FR material dictated that paladins receive their powers from deities. Feel free to skip this section if you want to jump directly to the 5e material. Let me start by stating two points that are relevant to this answer. I'm looking for official, 5e, published material related to FR that supports that assertion. The tweet suggests that Forgotten Realms paladins do have to follow a deity, which would be counter to the rules in the PHB. it overrides the PHB as regards the Forgotten Realms) backed up with material from a sourcebook (And if so, which one), or is this just an unofficial stance/interpretation of a staff member? What makes you a paladin is a “sacred oath,” and therefore the support of the gods However, if your deity commands you to do something (like obey or work with a mortal priest) and you don’t, you shouldn’t expect to retain your paladinhood. Although you, as a paladin, serve a god or alliance of good gods (to literally fight evil, and do so largely ‘in your own way' Paladins DO worship deities, and like any other mortal, may receive requests from mortal priests or divine servitors, or messages directly from a deity If a paladin transgresses against their oath, the usual absolution, as the PHB states, is to seek absolution from a cleric of the same faith. One becomes a paladin by hearing and accepting a call to holy service. However, while not an official ruling, this series of tweets from Ed Greenwood counter this and states that in FR, they are required to follow a deity: # CVS $Revision: $ $Author: $ - Mon Feb 22 22:56:28 2016 - reformated by PCGen PrettyLST v6.06.As can be seen in this question, with the relevant quote from the Players Handbook:Īlthough many paladins are devoted to gods of good, a paladin’s power comes as much from a commitment to justice itself as it does from a god. The occurrence of wahoo larvae in plankton tows within 15 miles from shore of the main Hawaiian Islands has been reported during June-September. Migration related to reproduction may also explain some of the seasonality in catch rates of wahoo near the Hawaiian Islands. Catch peaks in summer, during the spawning season, suggest that wahoo may gather near the islands to spawn. The condition of wahoo is highest in May before the spawning season and declines through the spawning season, reaching a minimum in July-August. The condition and abundance of wahoo appear to be related to a simple annual reproductive cycle. In the subtropical Pacific Ocean, the wahoo spawning season extends for five months, although in equatorial regions of the Pacific, larval wahoo have been found year-round, suggesting a more prolonged spawning season. They are very productive, releasing millions of eggs per year to compensate for eggs that might not survive to adulthood. Individual wahoo spawn multiple times throughout the spawning season. Wahoo spawn year-round in tropical waters and during the summer in higher latitudes, including Hawaii, when sea surface temperatures are over 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Babies are two-thirds fish and one-third alligator. The size of wahoo at hatching is 2.5 millimeters. The larvae are pelagic and prefer shallower water (less than 300 feet or so). Females can produce up to 60 million eggs during spawning. Female wahoo are very fertile, averaging approximately 40,000 mature eggs per two pounds of body weight. They are usually about a year old at this size. Males are able to reproduce when they reach 2.8 feet in length females are sexually mature when they reach 3.3 feet. Male wahoo appear to reach maturity at a smaller size and possibly younger age than females. They usually live to about six years of age but can live longer. Wahoo are sexually mature at one to two years of age. The Lahaina Harbor record is 78 pounds aboard the Charger back in 1984 by Capt. The Hawaii state record is 133 pounds, three ounces in 2000 off Pohoiki, Hawaii. The current IGFA all-tackle record is by a woman at 184 pounds, eight ounces on 80-pound test from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in 2005. Not only do they get long, they get girthy. A 183-pounder was almost seven feet long. Latitude appears to influence size, with average weight increasing with distance from the equator, apparently correlated to cooler temperatures.Ī 58.4-pound fish caught was five feet, three inches long a 66-pound fish was five feet, three-and-a-half inches long with a 71.7-pound fish five feet and six inches long. After reaching a length of 38 to 41 inches, individuals grow at a rate of 1.2 to 1.5 inches per month. Typically, individuals attain a size of 39 to 66 inches. The maximum reported size for the wahoo is 98 inches total length with a maximum weight of 184 pounds. Two- and three-year-olds are five feet long. They grow fast, attaining a length of three-and-a-half feet the first year. They are also often found near banks, pinnacles and flotsam (natural debris drifting in the ocean). They are frequently found alone or in small, loosely connected groups rather than in compact schools. Most often the peak ono season is between late spring and early fall, and they are normally found in abundance during the summer. Wahoo live in tropical waters year-round but move with the changing seasons, traveling into cooler waters during warm summer months. Wahoo are open ocean swimmers found near the surface in tropical and subtropical waters around the world. The Hawaiians had long recognized the quality of wahoo with their name “ono,” meaning delicious or tasty. Then and now, Oahu, which they pronounced and sometimes spelled “Wahoo,” was an important base. The name “wahoo” logically dates from the early whalers and missionary settlers seeing and utilizing the fine edible species in the Hawaiian Islands. It was scientifically named (Solandri) to honor the great Swedish scientist on board the Endeavour, Dr. In 1769, the crew on James Cook’s Endeavour, north of Tahiti, caught the first of these speedsters to be recorded in the Western world. That “tribe” contains the 18 species of Scomberomorus (king and Spanish mackerels) around the world, with the unique wahoo in its only species, Acanthocybium solandri.Įven the names, both common and scientific, are interesting. What exactly is a wahoo? It is a unique member of the tuna family called Scombridae a “tribe” line of the tunas and mackerels called seerfish. It can reach speeds of up to 45 miles per hour in short bursts, allowing quick capture of prey species. Wahoo, better known in Hawaiian waters as ono, are the biggest, fastest and meanest mackerel in America. The best day saw 30 ono caught, with two other days seeing 19 fish hanging. Others go further, though: Bitdefender checks only new and changed files, and in a recent review its second scan completed in less than a minute. There's some optimization for subsequent scans, and Panda took 24 minutes for scan #2. Panda Free Antivirus checked our 50GB of test executables in 39 minutes for the first scan, within the 15–50-minute range we typically see. Scan times were reasonable during testing. The only way to check a specific item is to manually open the app, choose the Custom scan and select a folder manually. Panda Free Antivirus doesn't integrate with Explorer, so right clicking a file or folder doesn't get you a 'Scan with Panda' option. These start with a Critical Areas, Full System or Custom scan, but you can also exclude particular folders or file types (handy for speeding up scans.) If that's not enough, you can also set multiple scheduled scans. A Critical Area scan checks the most commonly infected areas of a PC in around five minutes the Custom scan only inspects the files or folders you specify and the Full System scan, of course, checks everything. Panda Free Antivirus has several scanning options. Kaspersky and Trend Micro go further, recognizing the attacks as malicious actions and killing our testing tool immediately, preventing it trying anything else. 90% and more simply block our attacks, ensuring they have no effect. While it's true this attack may not succeed very often, the reality is most of the antivirus competition does a far better job of protecting itself. The company said these security flaws: 'could only be exploited by malware that has escalated admin rights and has not been detected by any of our technologies (signatures, Cloud, heuristics, contextual routines, behavioral protection,…).' Panda also said it had 'taken note' of our suggestion for a fix, though didn't commit to applying it. A common example might be via a spam email, with text which persuaded you to open an attached Office document, and then run an embedded macro. These exploits required an attacker persuading you to run a malicious script or macro on your system, with Administrator rights. The second effectively removed all Panda's protective layers, enabling malware to do whatever it liked. One attack successfully disabled part of Panda's real-time file scanning system, allowing us to download malicious files without detection. Testing Panda's self-protection revealed a couple of vulnerabilities. Malware sometimes attempts to disable an antivirus before launching a full infection attempt, so it's important any security app can defend itself. (Image credit: Panda Security) Self-protection It's not perfect - too many buttons just open a browser tab, rather than do anything locally - but we found it reasonably easy to use. Functions are grouped into ten buttons (Scan, VPN, Support and so on) hovering your mouse cursor over a button displays a caption, reminding you what it does clicking a button takes you to that area, where a Back button returns you to the main dashboard when you're done. (We checked Panda's Support site to find out what 'Show Panda News' was supposed to do, but couldn't find it mentioned anywhere. We found a 'Show Panda News' switch in Settings, and turned off, hoping this would help but no, it didn't make any difference at all. There's another small annoyance in a regularly updated banner at the bottom of the dashboard, with links to various blog posts on the Panda site. You must scroll down to access everything. The app has two rows of buttons for various functions, but Panda leaves so much free space to the photo, that the second row of buttons is out of view. This looks good, but creates an immediate usability issue. Panda's interface stands out immediately for its desktop-style wallpaper background. Session A at T1 says, "Lock d=5 row, don't allow other transactions to read or write, break."īecause if we insert d=5 at this point, the new data is not protected by the lock. Phantom just means "newly inserted row" Problems with illusory reading The result of session B modification is seen by the current read statement after session A, and cannot be called phantom read. Under repeatable read isolation, normal queries are snapshot reads and do not see data inserted by other transactions.Ģ. Phantom read is for insert data inconsistency, unrepeatable read is for DELETE, update data inconsistency.ġ. In the same transaction, two different reads are called illusory reads and unrepeatable reads. The difference between illusory and unrepeatable Phantom reading is when a transaction queries the same range twice before and after, and the latter query sees rows not seen by the previous query. Session A performs three current reads and adds A write lock. If the row with id=5 is locked and the other rows are not, in the following case: Will other scanned rows that do not meet the requirements be locked?
